Tips for Low Airfares








Looking for ways to get lower airfares and car rentals? Below you can find tips that may help you keep your transportations costs down, so you can get the most bang for your buck!

Flights
Buy Roundtrip Tickets - Usually the least expensive fares apply to roundtrip tickets.
Purchase Tickets Early - Making reservations at least 21 days in advance will keep the ticket price down.
Spend a Saturday night at your destination - Low airfare tickets require a Saturday night stay.
Travel on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday - Traveling on these days seem to be the least expensive.
Don't Discard Unused Tickets - A large amount of lower fared ticket are nonrefundable, however, if you don't use a low priced ticket, you might be able to put the cost of that ticket toward a new reservation. These tickets can be used for up to a year after the original date.
Ask Questions - Question if traveling on a different dates can save you any money. Ask if there are any "companion fare" offers available. Try to be flexible in your traveling plans, it can save you money.

Rent Friday to Monday - Car rental companies often offer weekend discounts.
Use Car Rental Coupons Online - Online reservations allow you to provide coupon and discount program numbers as you scan for cars. These money saving programs provide organization such as AARP and AAA with lower rental costs.
Choose "No Preference" Online - When going online to your favorite car rental company, always choose "No Preference" when asked which type of car you would like. This may yield more options with lower prices.
