Timely Tips about Flying out of Dubuque

As everyone is now aware, the events of September 11, 2001 have changed security procedures in all commercial airports nationwide. Please refer to these tips and also the following website for any questions or concerns you may have.

• When leaving Dubuque, please arrive at least 90 minutes prior to departure. Remember you will need extra time to process through the additional TSA security measures. Other airports may even require an earlier check in time.
• Passengers may be dropped off in front of the terminal, however, you may not leave your car unattended in front of the terminal and you cannot leave your baggage unattended.
• Only ticketed passengers will be allowed beyond the security checkpoint. Please remember to bring a government-issued photo ID.
• No knives or cutting instruments of any size or material will be allowed in the aircraft cabin.
• New weight limitations are now in affect for checked luggage with American. You are allowed 2 bags in checked luggage and one carry-on. Each checked bag can weigh no more than 50 pounds.
  1. If your bag weighs between 51 and 70 pounds you will be charged an additional $25.00 per bag.
  2. If your bag weighs between 71 and 100 pounds you will be charged an additional $50.00 per bag.
  3. No bag can exceed 100 pounds
